In an exciting event this May, Boro fans were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the iconic Riverside pitch, thanks to a special fundraising initiative.
Organised by the supporters group Red Faction, the match featured their team against a team of fans who successfully bid for a spot on the opposing XI. This unique opportunity not only allowed fans to live out their football dreams but also supported the Jordan Sinnott Foundation Trust (JSFT).
The silent auction, masterfully organised by our Vice-Chair Matt Crooks, accepted the top 11 highest bids. These fortunate fans were informed they made the team sheet for this extraordinary event.
The 90-minute match kicked off at 2.30pm on Saturday, 11th May, on the revered Riverside turf. A limited number of spectators enjoyed the game from the stands, with the Styled Suite providing food and drinks post-match.
Red Faction went above and beyond, hosting additional fundraising activities for the JSFT, including a raffle featuring exclusive Boro prizes. The event was a resounding success, raising an incredible £3,925 for the charity.
This memorable day was a testament to the community spirit and dedication of Boro fans, contributing significantly to the JSFT’s mission to support young people in sport, education, and mental health initiatives.
