On Saturday 15th April, a team of JSFT Volunteers armed with buckets headed to Matlock Town to participate in a bucket collection.
During the 2019/20 season, Jordan signed for the Gladiators from local rivals Alfreton Town. Throughout Jordans’ time with the club, he made twenty-three appearances for Matlock Town and scored seven goals. Matlock Town was Jordans’ team when he passed away. The club will always hold a special place in our hearts, make us feel welcome, and often invite us to hold a bucket collection there.
Holding the bucket collection enables us not only to raise vital funds to provide grants to both those individuals and community groups that need it most, but also enables us to raise awareness of the trust. We are so thankful to the teams, like Matlock Town, who support and invite us.
“We always look forward to visiting Matlock; they are a fantastic club and make us feel welcome. It’s always an emotional visit as it doesn’t seem like 2 minutes ago we were sitting watching Jordan playing there, but it’s nice to be able to take our daughter Maisie along for the day. ” Kelly Bossons, JSFT Trustee and Jordan’s Fiancée.
On the day, our band of volunteers managed to collect £259.98 thanks to all the generous donations we received. Matlock Town also beat Bamber Bridge 1-0, meaning it was celebrations all around!
